Weekly Photo Challenge: Adventure!

Sniffing the air, straining at the leash, it seems like dogs are always up for adventure. At the top of Glastonbury Tor, enlivened by altitude and far-reaching views everyone was high on excitement, and this being Glastonbury, probably banned substances as well:

Adventure on Glastonbury Tor Let me loose ...

The source of the excitement and sense of adventure was the over-abundance of fresh air and dramatic skies to the west:

And for those who might be concerned about the fate of the ‘corpse’ in the previous post, rest-assured, he made a complete recovery and is once again ready for adventure:

What amazing light, you captured some great portraits there on the top of the Tor 🙂

Thanks Seonaid – we picked just the right time of day – made it just in time with that last 500 yard dash 😉

Brilliant. Just love the doggy ones, especially!

I wish I could take such great photos :o) (I’m afraid my camera laughs at me always when I use it lol)

The last one is the best. Great light on the subject, boots and all!

    • northumbrianlight · September 6, 2014

Many thanks Cate – he is a bit of star isn’t he. Not sure if those are biker boots or wellington boots – either way, not the weather for them 🙂

    Very interesting shot!

Excellent photos! I just finished rereading a Deborah Crombie book that takes place in Glastonbury and partly on the Tor. Ironic.

That’s a neat bit of synchronicity – which book was it Janet?

      • sustainabilitea · September 6, 2014

A Finer End. I love her books, so I recommend any of them, but this is the one about Glastonbury and the Tor.

      • northumbrianlight · September 6, 2014

Thanks Janet, I will add that to the reading list.

Fine set, Robin. Always weird, someone standing on the horizon.

    • northumbrianlight · September 6, 2014

Many thanks Harrie – it is weird – I must lie on the floor more often 🙂

Love these shots, Robin – the surreal or rather hyper-real atmosphere. Got me thinking of Alan Garner again.

    • northumbrianlight · September 6, 2014

Many thanks Tish, it must be the high ground in an otherwise flat landscape. I guess the Wrekin is much the same. Alderley is not much like Glastonbury though 🙂

Great portraits of dogs and people! Love the 1st one with the owner leaning back as the dog strains on that leash 😉 And a magical skyscape too!

    #2. Excellent.

Lovely post – the lighting is wonderful.

    • northumbrianlight · September 7, 2014

Many thanks Tina – we arrived just at the right time of day – for once, in the right place at the right time 🙂

This is a great series of images Robin-especially of the dogs (no surprise there) and I love the light and clouds image-very dramatic!

Many thanks Meg – I genuinely thought of your images when I was producing these, particularly the second one. All the best, R
