Travel theme: Illuminated

It is winter, I don’t travel far.  A low sun lit up the field outside our front door and I padded outside, still in dressing gown and slippers, to take yet more photographs of the two trees. Too cold for hanging about, I was soon inside again and then noticed this familiar face illuminated by a low winter sun.  It is a clay planter which probably arrived in the UK aboard a container ship along with five hundred of her friends, nevertheless, she has a certain sad beauty despite her mass-produced beginnings:

Beautiful Robin. Gorgeous light and the sculpture, despite being made of stone looks so sweet and warm.

Sometime surprising what turns up at the local garden centre – to be honest I can’t remember where she came from, she has been living in the porch for years.

Beautiful and tender….I love the low angle of the light, it makes it feel very intimate
